The Seattle Seahawks' offense didn't look too sharp in Saturday night's preseason road win over the Los Angeles Chargers. The victory belonged to Mike Macdonald and his nasty new defense, as they shut down Easton Stick and the rest of Jim Harbaugh's backups for almost the entire game, finishing with a 16-3 win.
There were a few bright spots on offense such as Kenny McIntosh, George Holani, Laviska Sheunault Jr. and Dareke Young. However, both Sam Howell and P.J. Walker had rough outings at quarterback, while the second-string offensive line largely struggled, especially tackles Stone Forsythe and McClendon Curtis.

One exception to that rule was rookie right guard Christian Haynes, who had a pretty solid outing in his very first pro action. Here's NFL draft analyst Ben Fennell breaking down Haynes' first game in the league.
Thought #Seahawks rookie iOL Christian Haynes looked solid in debut vs LAC. 41 snaps at LG/RG
Quick as hell off the ball to reach/hook assignments frontside or back. Quality/balanced 1on1 pass pro reps. Still working on combo timing but can surface blocks vs LBs well enough pic.twitter.com/A6Tm1ywciP

Haynes may be a bit undersized at this level (at the Scouting Combine he checked in at 6-foot-2, 317 pounds), but overall his athletic profile is very strong and his RAS score was 9.35 out of 10. That should help Haynes navigate what is often a brutal gap between playing at a high level in college and just trying to survive your first year in the NFL.
