Kansas City Chiefs quarterback Patrick Mahomes revealed a priceless reason as to why he has to limit his offseason time with teammate and close friend Travis Kelce.
Patrick Mahomes and the 34-year-old Travis Kelce have emerged as the best QB-receiving tandem in football since the former became Kansas City’s starting signal-caller in 2018. They have led the Chiefs to six straight AFC Championship games, four Super Bowl appearances and three Lombardi Trophies.
But during an interview with teammate Alex Smith (the QB Mahomes succeeded in Kansas City) on SiriusXM NFL Radio, Mahomes hilariously revealed that the game of golf forces him to limit his offseason time with his beloved teammate.
“I’m going to stay away from Travis, he gets me off my game, gets me off my game,” Mahomes said. “He’s a bad influence…by day three I’m just like, ‘I can’t be with him for more than two days.’”
Hey, that’s a sign of a special bond. If somebody always distracts you during recreational activities like golf, that usually speaks volumes of your strong relationship.
Kansas City’s bid to win a third straight Super Bowl will begin with a can’t-miss showdown against reigning MVP Lamar Jackson and the Baltimore Ravens in the NFL Kickoff Game on Sept. 5.
Patrick Mahomes owns a 4-1 record against the Ravens, including a 17-10 road victory in last season’s AFC Championship Game.
